This article pisses me off….so long…no answers
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/19/tech-stocks-like-facebook-and-apple-got-crushed-once-again.html
  • Facebook shares fell after a WSJ report that CEO Mark Zuckerberg is becoming much more aggressive in how he manages the tech giant.
  • Apple shares dropped following a report the company has cut production for its newest iPhones.
  • Bitcoin also continued a year-long slide, hitting its lowest level of the year.
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/15/bezos-tells-employees-one-day-amazon-will-fail-and-to-stay-hungry.html
  • Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos told employees, in response to a question at an all-hands meeting last week, that the company is not “too big to fail.”
  • Bezos was asked a similar question at an internal meeting in March about Amazon’s size and the potential for government regulation.
  • Bezos is addressing the concerns as Amazon prepares to expand into two new headquarters locations in New York and Virginia.
  • Microsoft announced Wednesday it would acquire an Austin-based software product design and development studio called XOXCO.
  • XOXCO is known for Howdy, a bot for the popular Slack work chat app that helps schedule meetings, as well as Botkit, which provides development tools for the GitHub code-sharing service.
  • Microsoft has acquired several other AI startups this year, including Semantic Machines, Bonsai, and Lobe.
  • Microsoft also announced updates to its AI platform, including a new technology called Cognitive Services Containers.
CloudBees CEO Sacha Labourey referred to as Frankenstein Jenkins or, more snappily, “Jenkinsteins” as teams add plug-ins to create a “gigantic, fragile master that falls apart”.
Dealing with these “Jenkinsteins” is therefore important.
This is perhaps the most aggressive analysis of what IBM must do…. I like it!!!
